About Us
The University of South Carolina rugby club was founded in 1967. We have a proud history that includes championships, unmatched camaraderie, and spirited competition. Over the course of more than five decades we have accomplished much.
The 2021-22 year was one of the best years for Carolina Rugby, filled with firsts. We worked with the university to onboard a full-time coach, raised nearly $100,000 to support the program, and elevated communications across all our platforms. We also recruited a first-rate incoming class that included 18 freshmen.
Moreover, our boys put together a remarkable season by finishing 6-3 in two national championship tournaments while logging three consecutive victories over our rival Clemson.
We hope to inspire others to join us in our mission to nurture student leaders, bolster our national profile, instill a culture of philanthropy, and connect all who have worn the garnet and black.
