Gamecocks go 2-1-1 at Dixie 7s

The Gamecocks compiled a 2-1-1 record at the Dixie 7s Tournament February 27.

The tournament site was shifted from Tuscaloosa to Birmingham as the fields at the University of Alabama were too wet for play.

The Gamecocks opened against conference rival Kentucky. South Carolina took a 5-0 lead but were unable to hold the advantage as the Wildcats scored two late trys to win 10-5.

South Carolina defeated Auburn 10-0 and Alabama 22-17. The team played poorly against West Virginia but scored 19 points in the final three minutes to salvage a tie.
